Some additional thoughts.
Perhaps you have seen it. Great movie, The Last Emperor. It’s about the last emperor of China. Towards the end after many years of “reeducation”, his communist handler is asking him about his responsibility for this and that and to everything he responds that he is responsible. His handler comments that he could not have possibly been responsible for some of these things.
This is a telling concept. Some people, out of fear, avoid responsibility by taking no responsibility, Some avoid responsibility by taking all the responsibility for everything. The result is the same, They are able to avoid the most important, the critical, the best. Remember, quite often it’s not really evil which is the greatest enemy of the best; but quite often “the good is the greatest enemy of the best.”
